Overall a nice episode, even if it wasn't quite great, but a very good watch.

Some nice appearances from Digimon we've seen before.

Stuffing everyone into one room was a bit funny, if weird that they never played it up as a joke. Still a bit weird to have Neemon be knowledgeable and mature.

Building a village/new home feels like it worked well framing wise with the prior episode, even if none of those Digimon (I think?) showed up here.

Having Shakkoumon show up, blow stuff up, then stop in place with an empty battery was an interesting way to go. Although to be honest, I know it's a longstanding attack of Shakkoumon, but him launching the discs here, it just makes me think of the various Ninja Turtle vehicles that had plastic pizza discs you could launch.

Sora can read the text... I honestly forgot that the kids could do that (did we ever see anyone other than Taichi do it previously?)

The reason Shakkoumon was buried was a bit unique. Being buried/sealed by the Digimon he was protecting because they knew they wouldn't survive and wanted to protect him. So he wakes up and thinks he's still fighting to protect people who are long since gone.

A good number of times in the show characters have been voiceless when a voice would have been better, but I think Shakkoumon not speaking worked well for the end.

Cupimon was voiced by Kokoro Kikuchi, who has played quite a few roles in Digimon...
Kokuwamon X in X-Evo
Chika in Savers
Sparrowmon, Pickmon, & others in Xros Wars
And of course... Gatchmon in Appmon.

I expected more and deeper story from Shakkoumon's memory. This is like something we already know in general actually. Seems like I shouldn't expect that much next time.
Well, four eps away from finale!

I had a face like Digimon Adventure: Episode 62- The Tears of Shakkoumon (6) when the Cupimon were wiped out. Shakkoumon crying had me like Digimon Adventure: Episode 62- The Tears of Shakkoumon (7). Garudamon casually tanking the Gaia Force had me going Digimon Adventure: Episode 62- The Tears of Shakkoumon (8).

You know I was kinda hyped though. "It's been 20 years since Shakkoumon and a WarGreymon faced off." Wasn't as cool as I pictured it though.

I think this episode is the best treatment Sora & Biyomon gets out of this series given what happened previously with 02, Tri and LEK. Sora's concept of love in this series is nowhere close to her original counterpart. Just words and nothing more. Shakkoumon yet another voiceless characters (sigh)...

This is yet another episode that could be improved by fleshing out the general conflict. They make this big deal about Shakkoumon's sealing being very sad, but it's hard to get invested when all you show of this story is the literal end of it.

Remember that all stories need to fit into one episode. Whereas other shows might have a story continue over several episodes in an arc, that's not how this series works.

I don't think Garudamon tanked Gaia force. I think it touched it and then Wargreymon collapsed the attack.

I guess they're matching Sora's personality with the Tri Sora. Phoenixmon is a healer because Sora doesn't like to fight. In 2020, her love is an unconditional love for all Digimon I guess.

I've always interpreted Sora's Love as a desire to protect and nurture others, which I think Shakkoumon was going for acting as the guardian and protector of the Cupimon and Puttimon.

Shakkoumon's presence kinda disproves my prediction of the 02 kids being featured, but not entirely. I've been riding that theory ever since the Niddhogmon battle showed a bunch of kids watching the fight along with Hikari, doing some callbacks to Our War Game, and they just haven't brought that back since. Still, it doesn't completely debunk of prediction, but it certainly doesn't help.

Nice episode, the conclusion was satisfactory.
However, the animation was terrible, and phoenixmon's sequence is cheap.
I loved how phoenixmon purrified shakoumon and the contrast between wargreymon's aggressivity and phoenixmon's gentleness.
Nevertheless, we need to see the others too.

Somewhat not fun episode as I thought.

But... Neemon being the village chief and speaking is something that is not really Neemon I know of lol. This Neemon is really totally like special Neemon. Like Renamon's profile...? I guess?

I wonder if Shakkoumon was involved with that ancient war or different time era?

Wow all Lucemon babies were wiped out really hard. Poor them.

Oh so that was where Junkmon vanished off to.

I just realized, all Chosen kids gathered their "armies" though encounters but Taichi didn't have "army"... Why did I just realize now...He only have... Probably Ogremon/Rebellimon and Cutemon.

This should've been Hououmon's debut episode, it's so much better than the volcano.

I think this episode was good. It was nice to see the Digimon Sora befriended during the series. I liked the premise of awakening Shakkoumon out of the old battle he beloved he was still fighting.

Definitely one of the better Sora focused episodes who I felt has been the weakest link of the children this time around. I legit forgot that Sora didn't get her Crest when she got her Mega last time so I was initially confused when she talked about following the arrow still. Cool to see both Junkmon and Neamon return in more peaceful times. I really liked the point about how the Chosen aren't there just to fight as it ties in well with Sora's Crest being about Love. Interesting that we got some more lore about the Great War and how it wasn't just the Angels that were fighting the evil forces, though seeing the childlike Cupimon just get annihilated was surprisingly raw. I won't lie, when I first saw the Shakkoumon doll in the distance my brain thought it was a D3 for some reason and I had to do a double take.

Next week seems to be wrapping up the Crest arc and I am hyped to see how this all comes together for the finale.

There’s was room for so much lore…. What a wasted opportunity

the show should’ve ended after they defeated millenniummon because this arc is dumb and boring. I don’t even watch all the way through anymore.

this show is insulting to the fans of the original. I’m not sure how new fans are following the “plot”… they don’t even know what their crests represent yet.

and they’re never together. I hate that the writers couldn’t create a group dynamic even though they had a BLUPRINT FROM THE ORIGINAL. They always opt for these solo episodes that still fail to flesh out the characters.

the characters have no personality. The show has zero heart. The fighting is repetitive, they NEVER lose! Don’t you miss the digidestined getting whooped, having to run and learn how to fight better!?
I could go on and on but this show is the WORST of all seasons

Throw the whole season away. I wouldn’t even care if we never get to see how it concludes.
they’re wasting our time at this point.
Just give us ghost game and let’s hope it gives us everything this hollow show failed to give us

Holy bird dandruff can calm a giant clay robot and reclaim lost souls!

All in all, not a bad episode, and a better Sora-focused episode than before - yet I feel kinda underwhelmed with the set-up and payoff of Sora and Hououmon putting a stop to Shakkoumon's wrath.

It was hard to get emotionally connected to Shakkoumon's plight even with what was presented, and Sora and Piyomon being all tearful in front of the audience felt less genuine and more a forced attempt to get the audience to sympathize with the characters - and this is coming from somebody who's been moved by watching certain episodes from a show about marketable fire-breathing cyborg monsters and blobs that throw poop.

So, I guess Taichi's last-up to find his Crest, eh? Let's see how that goes. Digimon Adventure: Episode 62- The Tears of Shakkoumon (23)

This was from the better Sora episodes and not a bad episode overall but I feel like the was a really wasted opportunity to show us more from the Ancient War. The reboot has a lot of wasted potential with the Ancient War. Many things from it could be used for today's overall plot and we could have more Villains from it. But oh well...

Houomon's evolution was better here.

Very boring episode like most with Sora, but still better than a few others with her. And again we seen a Digimon that probably nobody likes (Junkmon).

Looking back, I kinda feel all of Sora episodes follow the same basic outline."These Digimon are in trouble, we have to save them because Love and junk".

Yes, a lot of Digimon episodes follow that concept, but here, Sora gets that and only that. There's a lack of variety that other characters typically get.

"I love everyone. That's why I want to protect you..." is basically the entirety of her 2020 characterization in two sentences.
