Wizards of the Coast has launched its own Secret Lair drop — Secret Lair X The Office — bringing The Office’s iconic characters into the world of Magic: The Gathering. This collaboration isn’t just a gimmick; it’s a step forward in blending popular culture with board game innovation. While many players gravitate toward absurd or niche elements, others find value in deeper, more meaningful connections. For example, the newly announced Secret Lair X The Office features re-skinning existing cards, including Dwight Schrute’s character, who now lives on as “Dwight, Assistant (to the) King.” This means you could bring Rainn Wilson’s bespectacled beet farmer to your next game night and demand he be taken seriously. And that’s not even the strangest drop revealed at MagicCon Atlanta. Alongside The Office, Wizards also unveiled new Secret Lair collabs featuring Jaws (sharks make sense), Iron Maiden (because skeletons), and — somehow — Furby. The latter exists mainly because both MTG and Furby share the same parent company, Hasbro. Still, the 'Furby Oddboddies' meme reference is hard not to admire in its unholy glory.
