Get ready, cycling fans! The 2026 Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift route is out, and it's packed with surprises, including a date with the legendary Mont Ventoux!
In a ballroom buzzing with off-season cyclists, journalists, and enthusiasts, the ASO unveiled the highly anticipated route. This announcement confirms the rumors of a 21 km individual time trial and the inclusion of the iconic Mont Ventoux.
But here's where it gets interesting: the race will kick off in Switzerland, promising a thrilling start. The opening stage in Lausanne spans 137 km, offering a relatively flat course. However, the first yellow jersey won't be a walk in the park, as the finale includes a 2.5 km climb. The second stage, covering 149 km, will start in Aigle and finish in Geneva. And the third stage will cross into France, covering 157 km from Geneva to Poligny, featuring four categorized climbs.
The Crown Jewel: Mont Ventoux
Stage 4 will feature a 21 km time trial. And the biggest surprise? A distinct lack of sprinter-friendly stages.
Zwift's Continued Partnership
Before the route reveal, Marion Rousse, the race director, announced that Zwift will remain the title sponsor through 2029. This partnership underscores Zwift's commitment to women's cycling. Eric Min, Zwift CEO, emphasized the importance of growing women's participation in cycling, highlighting the impact of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift.
A Race Against Time
The last time the Tour featured a time trial was in 2023. The upcoming 21 km time trial is designed for dedicated ITT riders. With only 1.8 km of climbing, it's a true test of speed and endurance. Riders like Anna van der Breggen and Marlen Reusser will be eager to showcase their skills.
